Why is waiting so difficult for me? Christmas, nine months of pregnancy, retirement; waiting on those things always make me itch. I'm the type that will open mail walking in from the mailbox. Can't wait that extra twenty seconds it takes.
Maybe it's the Internet that's made us so ready for instant gratification. Computers getting faster; have we ever said they work too fast? Instant communication. What, wait until someone gets home from work to talk to them? Nope, it's call their cell, they'll take time to answer. It is a bit productivity killer in the workplace.
I blame the food industry. Microwave cooking, fast food and instant pudding has made us a nation if impatient people. Bake a potato?
Waiting, it can make you a little nutty.
